FORMA x This is Water invite you to
A community sailing immersion in the Society Islands of French Polynesia
November 15-21, 2025

Join us in November for a 6 day off-grid sailing expedition in Tahiti, Bora Bora, and beyond.
We will restore our connection to water through incredible, multi-sensory experiences in the heart of the South Pacific.
Our Expedition

Our Expedition *
This journey will be off-grid, sailing between islands while having a low impact on the natural wonders of the region. We will intentionally be removed from technology and alcohol, enabling inner and outer presence to be experienced together.
Return to Water offers a chance to engage the senses, play in the elements, and notice what becomes clear when we slow down.
This is not a run-of-the-mill luxury or tourist sail — it’s an adventure with shared community. We will all participate and support from leading a workshop to helping prep food. This trip will be informed by the unique signature we each bring.

This is for friends, adventurers, leaders, the sailing curious, and those feeling the call to the wild…
Reclaiming the wildness inside, through the wilderness outside.
Why French Polynesia?
These waters hold a rare kind of magic. French Polynesia is made up of 118 islands and atolls in the South Pacific, including the Society Islands — each one with its own breathtaking landscape, rhythm, and story. From lush volcanic mountains to crystal clear lagoons, this place inspires the deepest awe.
The protected waters that encircle the islands creates a relaxed and gentle sailing experience. For us, sailing here is a practice in environmental awareness and cultural respect.
We live more lightly on the water.

Explore your wildness with us...

Jan Federico Bird is a champion for all life. As a regenerative farmer, environmental scientist, and ecological land and water systems designer, his work ranges from food forest gardens to commercial farms and ranches to ecosystem restoration projects. As a health coach and retreat host, he guides people towards their true nature and wholeness.
He was raised on a remote coastal ranch in the middle of a vast Baja wilderness without electricity or neighbors, and access only by sailboat. This early intimacy with nature launched him on a mission of harmonizing humanity's relationship with ourselves and with the Earth.
When he's not working, he enjoys surfing, sailing, freediving, and seeking esoteric knowledge.
